K-2 States At St. J Youth Wrestling Tournament
K-2 States At St. J Youth Wrestling Tournament was a great day on the mats and boy do we have a boatload of young talent.
From beginners to 3 year veterans, some of these kids are already very proficient wrestlers. If they stay in wrestling until high school…..well let’s just say there will be some very happy high school coaches! And along the way the 3-6 and middle school programs will have a solid base of talented wrestlers!
83 wrestlers from 15 youth organizations participated in the K-2 States Youth Wrestling Tournament. Although some people have their doubts if kids this age should be wrestling for state titles, it sure looked to me like these kids wanted to be there and Kudos to the parents for making it happen.
I believe that kids who want to compete should be given that opportunity! The kids have fun and they make lots of friends, but most importantly, they learn about winning and losing, and the value of a work ethic. And…..they’re learning a sport at an early age when the learning skills are the highest. Who knows what heights these kids could achieve!
